Mr. A J Rao is graduate in mechanical engineering with a professional service span of more than 40 years. He worked at various levels in many companies producing ferro alloys. Over a period of 16 years, he worked for FACOR, with active and hands-on involvement in construction of India’s first low carbon ferro chrome project and in its maintenance thereafter and also involvement in conception and implementation of India’s first charge chrome project employing a 45 MVA electric smelting furnace and in its maintenance thereafter. He was Project Engineer with Binny Ltd., Engineering Division, Madras for a period of 5 years wherein he helped co-ordinate project activities pertaining to 9 MVA Calcium carbide Project at Hagari, Karnataka, 2 x 20 MVA Ferrosilicon Project at Hospet, Karnataka and 33 MVA Ferromanganese Project at MEL, Chandrapur, Maharashtra in collaboration with M/s ELKEM, Norway.

He was Manager-Mechanical with M/s EMDEKI UTAMA, Surabaya, Indonesia for a period of 2 years during which he was responsible for the Formulation of sound Maintenance and Up-keep practices and relevant documentation for a 12 MVA Calcium carbide Plant and training of maintenance personnel. He was Senior Project Manager with m/s ELKEM METALLURGY, Mumbai for a period of about 2 years and was responsible for Overall Co-ordination and implementation of indigenous scope of work related to a 28.5 MVA Ferrosilicon Project of Bhutan Ferro Alloys at Phuntsholing, Bhutan in collaboration with M/s ELKEM TECHNOLOGY , Norway. Also worked as General Manager (Technical) and Vice-President with VBC FERRO ALLOYS, Hyderabad in two different phases for a period of about 6 years and there he was responsible for formulation of sound maintenance and Up-keep practices for 2 x 16.5 MVA Ferrosilicon and H.C.Ferrochrome plant at Hyderabad. He was Overall Project Consultant to SRI VASAVI INDUSTRIES at Kolkata for a period of about 5 years for implementation of their 1 x 16 MVA and 1 x 12MVA Ferrochrome Project at Bishnupur, West Bengal. He was Project Manager with M/s ADHUNIK MEGHALA STEEL, Kolkata/Byrnihat, Meghalaya for a period of about 3 years for implementation of their 1 x 7.5 MVA and 1 x 9 MVA Ferroalloy Project at Byrnihat, Meghalaya. He acted as the Vice-President (Technical) with GMR INDUSTRIES, Hyderabad/Tekkali for a period of 1 year for conceptualization and formulation of new facilities like Chrome ore drying, Briquetting etc., for the betterment of production/productivity at their 1 x 6 MVA and 1 x 9 MVA Ferro chrome plant at Tekkali.

Having had an illustrious career thus far, he was interested to join hands with RgCON and help the team get stronger and more promising by offering any technical and commercial guidance that the company asks of him.
